In case you're wondering how Retreat Pray Love (later changed to Yummy Arts Yoga Retreats!) started, here's the story:
One day I was chatting with my Danish schoolmate in a lovely coffee shop (photo above) in Copenhagen when out of the blue I told her that I was thinking of starting retreats around the world with local yoga teachers. She enthusiastically encouraged me and we chatted a bit more about some ideas. That was in early September 2015.
Fast forward to the following months (October 2015 - February 2016) during which I traveled to Amsterdam for two yoga workshops at Delight Yoga (Vinyasa Krama with Whit Hornsberger; and a Yoga & Writing with both Jasmijn Koelink and Geertje Couwenbergh); plus and an Ayurveda consultation with Tory Hyndman, plus a personalized inner beauty workshop in Lyon, France (designed by Jette Norup Lund, another Danish friend), plus a yoga and art retreat in Iceland with Eat Pray Move, plus an Ellie Goulding concert and museums in Madrid (including El Prado), plus a yoga class with Maricha Dumont at Paris Yoga Shala and art exhibitions at Le Grand Palais in Paris :-)
All of these experiences led me to want to create amazing retreats all around the world!
So in March 2016, I decided to take a leap of faith and launched Retreat Pray Love on International Women's Day as a symbolic gesture and as part of the larger universal community :-) Thus, here we are, with Copenhagen first up on our retreat calendar for July 2-6, 2016!
One of the main reasons I wanted to start Retreat Pray Love was to provide folks, like myself, with an option for small group travel to capital or major cities, over long holiday weekends, that also allowed a continuation of one's yoga practice, a deepening of this practice, and a chance to explore the world along the way with others who consider themselves to be a #yogatourist. All while still allowing lots of free time to create one's own local adventure in some of the most beautiful and exciting cities in the world. I am also a fan of music (#musictourist) and the Arts in general, so I wanted to incorporate music and the ancient practice of Ayurveda (a very interesting and practical practice indeed).
So, that's how Retreat Pray Love was founded and created and I'm so happy to have you on this journey with me :-)
